PRODUCT DETAILS

CSX2438 was shipped to Hi-Performance in L.A. 1964.

with WSW tires, delete the luggage rack, and add 5 chrome wheels.
Shelby America sold it to a "withdrawn" in, Inglewood CA. who subsequently added hard top w/side curtains and Talbot side mirrors.
Driven for about a year, the owner brought it to Shelby and had a full 289 race engine installed along with a competition clutch, scatter shield drag headers
and an Alloy oil pan.
Early in the 70s, an oil cooler, oil cooler scoop, and rounded flares were added via the Shelby factory.
Ownership changed hands at Auction in 1987 to "withdrawn", retaining ownership of the car for about one year, in turn selling it to "withdrawn" in 1988.
Subsequently, the new owner brought the car to SAAC-13 with the correct 5-spoke wheels and 15,300 miles on the clock.
1990-01 it underwent restoration and was Painted Red, with a black leather interior. A hood scoop was added along with the F.I.A. Halibrands and Weber carburetors.
Sold and purchased again in 2007, by the current owner in Houston TX. where it has been enjoyed thoroughly through today.
All maintenance is current and documented.  With a current mileage of 16K and change accounted for on the clock.
There has been no other modification. The engine has a documented restamp by Shelby Factory per the original upgrades.
*The current owner opted for a substituted Tremic 5-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter, for continued road use with better-gearing drivability. The original matching factory transmission and shifter were saved and are available for replacement by Redline or as a "spare" at time of sale
